🚨 Senne Lammens Makes Big Claim About Harry Maguire
Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens has reportedly spoken highly of Harry Maguire, describing the experienced centre-back as one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
The comments highlight the respect Maguire continues to command inside the Manchester United dressing room despite the criticism he has faced throughout his time at Old Trafford.
Maguire’s United Journey
Since arriving from Leicester City in 2019, Maguire has experienced almost every possible side of football at Manchester United.
The defender quickly became an important figure at the club and was eventually handed the captaincy. Although his performances have sometimes attracted criticism, Maguire has also produced numerous strong displays and has remained an experienced presence within the squad.
His biggest strengths remain his aerial ability, physical presence, positioning and willingness to take responsibility when United are under pressure.
Why Lammens’ Praise Matters
For a young goalkeeper like Lammens, having experienced defenders in front of him can be extremely important.
Maguire’s communication and understanding of defensive situations can provide valuable support to a goalkeeper, particularly during difficult moments in matches.
Lammens’ reported admiration therefore says more than simply praising an individual teammate. It reflects the importance of experience and leadership as Manchester United continue to develop their squad.
Maguire Still Has a Role to Play
Manchester United have several options at centre-back, but Maguire’s experience remains a useful asset.
His ability to defend crosses, compete physically with opposing forwards and contribute to build-up play gives the team another dimension. When used in the right situations, he can still be an important player for United.
The challenge for Maguire is to maintain consistency and prove that he can continue performing at a high level whenever called upon.
United Fans Will Be Watching Closely
With Manchester United aiming to challenge for major honours, defensive stability will be crucial throughout the season.
Whether Maguire is a regular starter or an experienced option within the squad, his influence could still prove valuable.
Lammens’ reported assessment will certainly please Maguire supporters, while it also raises an interesting question for United fans: does Harry Maguire still deserve to be considered one of the Premier League’s best defenders?
What do you think? Is Maguire still underrated, or has his best level already passed?
