🚨 ZIRKZEE REPLACEMENT? 22-Year-Old Striker With 23 Goals Emerges on Manchester United Radar After Aston Villa Display
Manchester United could be keeping a very close eye on one of Europe’s emerging young strikers.
Nicolò Tresoldi, the 22-year-old Club Brugge forward, has reportedly emerged as a player of interest to Manchester United as the club continues to monitor attacking options for the future.
Tresoldi enjoyed a breakthrough 2025/26 campaign, scoring 23 goals and providing nine assists in 58 appearances across all competitions for Club Brugge. His numbers have naturally attracted attention from clubs across Europe.
🔴 Manchester United Watching Tresoldi
United’s interest comes at a time when the club are continuing to assess the long-term composition of their attacking department.
With Joshua Zirkzee’s future still a subject of discussion, adding another young centre-forward could become an important consideration. Tresoldi’s profile is particularly interesting because he combines youth with proven production.
The Germany international is listed as a centre-forward and stands around 1.86m tall, giving him the physical profile to operate as a traditional No.9 while still offering mobility in attack.
👀 His 2025/26 Numbers Were Impressive
Tresoldi’s first season at this level was nothing short of eye-catching.
2025/26:
– ⚽ 23 goals
– 🎯 9 assists
– 🏟️ 58 appearances
– 🇩🇪 Germany international
– 🔴⚫ Club Brugge striker
Those numbers explain why his name is now appearing on the radar of several major European clubs.
😳 Aston Villa Performance Gets Attention
The timing of the latest reports is also interesting.
Tresoldi featured for Club Brugge against Aston Villa, with Manchester United and Tottenham reportedly having representatives at the match to watch the striker. Club Brugge eventually lost the game 3–2, but Tresoldi’s involvement gave scouts another opportunity to assess him against Premier League opposition.
For United, matches like this are valuable because they provide an opportunity to judge whether a player who has been prolific in Belgium can translate those qualities against stronger opposition.
🔥 Could He Really Replace Zirkzee?
It would be premature to describe Tresoldi as a direct replacement for Zirkzee because there is no indication that Manchester United have agreed a deal or even made a formal offer.
However, stylistically, the possibility is certainly interesting.
Tresoldi is still only 22 and has plenty of room for development. His goal involvement at Club Brugge suggests he already possesses the attacking instincts United would want from a young striker.
United have also increasingly focused on building a squad containing players with significant resale value and long-term potential. A 22-year-old striker coming off a 23-goal season fits that strategy perfectly.
💰 United Could Face Competition
Manchester United are not believed to be the only club interested.
Reports have linked Tresoldi with interest from other major European clubs, meaning United could face competition if they eventually decide to make their interest concrete. His reported valuation has also been placed around the €25 million mark in some reports, although any eventual asking price could change considerably depending on demand.
🔴 My Take
For me, this is exactly the type of player Manchester United should be monitoring.
United don’t necessarily need to spend another enormous fee on an established superstar every time they want to strengthen the squad. Finding a 22-year-old striker who has already demonstrated that he can score consistently could represent a much smarter long-term investment.
The big question is whether Tresoldi can reproduce those numbers in the Premier League.
If he can, United may have discovered a very interesting attacking option.
And after his impressive 2025/26 campaign, it is easy to understand why the Red Devils are reportedly keeping tabs on him.
Would you like Manchester United to sign Nicolò Tresoldi as a potential Zirkzee replacement? 🔴👀
