Casemiro Will Miss Michael Carrick at Manchester United

There is one thing Casemiro could genuinely miss following his departure from Manchester United — Michael Carrick.

The Brazilian midfielder experienced different stages during his Manchester United career, but his relationship with Carrick brought out a different side of his game.

For Casemiro, Carrick was more than just a manager on the touchline. He was someone who understood midfield football, understood the demands of playing for Manchester United and, importantly, understood exactly how to get the best out of experienced players.

That is why, in my opinion, Casemiro will look back at his time under Carrick with a lot of appreciation.

Carrick knew what Casemiro could offer.

Instead of simply asking the Brazilian to cover every blade of grass, Carrick appeared to give him a clear role and trusted his experience. Casemiro could concentrate on winning the ball, protecting the defence, helping his teammates and making his presence felt in important areas.

And when a manager gives a player that level of confidence, the player notices it.

Casemiro has played under some of the biggest managers in football, but Carrick had something particularly valuable: a deep understanding of the midfield position.

Having played as a midfielder himself, Carrick knew the importance of positioning, timing and controlling the space in front of the defence.

For a player like Casemiro, that understanding can make a huge difference.

It is therefore easy to imagine the Brazilian looking back and thinking:

“I will miss working with Michael Carrick.”

Carrick did not necessarily need to shout or make headlines to influence his players. Sometimes the biggest impact a manager can have is simply making a player feel trusted.

And Casemiro appeared to benefit from that trust.

His experience, leadership and physical presence remained valuable, particularly when Manchester United needed someone capable of bringing composure and authority into the midfield.

Now that chapter has closed, Casemiro will move forward with the memories of his time at Old Trafford.

But among those memories, his time working with Carrick could stand out.

Because footballers remember managers who believe in them.

They remember coaches who understand their game.

And they remember the people who helped them rediscover their confidence.

Casemiro may have left Manchester United, but Michael Carrick is one manager he could genuinely miss.

What do you think, Manchester United fans? Did Carrick get the best out of Casemiro?
