🚨🔴 WAYNE ROONEY PRAISES MAN UNITED AFTER EVERTON DRAW: “A GOOD AWAY PERFORMANCE”
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has highlighted the positives from United’s 2-2 draw against Everton, despite the disappointment of dropping points.
The Red Devils were forced to settle for a point after a game that saw both sides have their moments, but Rooney believes there were plenty of encouraging signs in United’s overall performance.
Speaking about the match, Rooney said:
«“I thought it was a GOOD away performance. There was a lot more CONTROL. The midfield three were really good.»
«“They’ll be frustrated they haven’t won the game, given the performance.”»
🔴 MORE CONTROL IN MIDFIELD
One of Rooney’s biggest positives was United’s control in midfield.
The former United captain felt the midfield three performed particularly well, helping the team manage the game better and maintain possession under pressure.
That control is something United supporters will be hoping to see more consistently as the season continues.
💪 UNITED WILL FEEL THEY DESERVED MORE
Despite the final scoreline, Rooney believes United’s performance was good enough to leave the players frustrated that they did not take all three points.
The draw will naturally feel disappointing, particularly after United showed periods of strong control and attacking threat.
However, there are encouraging signs that the team is beginning to develop greater balance and composure in midfield.
🔴 POSITIVES TO BUILD ON
United will now have to take the lessons from the Everton game and focus on the next challenge.
The result may not have been what Michael Carrick’s side wanted, but Rooney’s assessment provides another reminder that there were genuine positives in the performance.
A frustrating draw, but plenty for United to build on. 🔴
