🚨 Manchester United Put £160m Valuation on Kobbie Mainoo

Manchester United have reportedly placed a staggering £160 million valuation on Kobbie Mainoo, underlining just how highly the club now rates the academy midfielder.

The claim, reported by Lauren Whitwell, comes at a fascinating moment in Mainoo’s career. After a difficult period that included being overlooked during England’s World Cup campaign, the 21-year-old has responded with a series of impressive performances for United. 

Mainoo has quickly become an important part of Michael Carrick’s midfield plans. His composure in possession, ability to dictate the tempo and intelligence when receiving the ball have made him particularly effective alongside Youri Tielemans.

His recent Champions League performance against Sabah was another reminder of his quality. Mainoo completed 81 of 83 passes, delivered six accurate long balls and consistently helped United control the midfield. He has also been praised by former United figures, with Owen Hargreaves suggesting the youngster has the potential to become one of the best midfielders in the world. 

What makes the reported £160m valuation even more interesting is United’s huge investment in midfield this summer. The club brought in Carlos Baleba, Andrey Santos and Tielemans, yet Mainoo has still managed to establish himself as a key player under Carrick. 

United’s reported valuation therefore sends a clear message: Mainoo is not someone the club wants to lose.

At just 21, with years of development ahead of him and already possessing significant Premier League and European experience, United appear to view their academy graduate as a long-term cornerstone of the midfield.

And considering the way Mainoo has started this season, that £160m valuation may not be as outrageous as it initially sounds.

🔴 The big question

Would you sell Kobbie Mainoo for £160 million, or is he already too important to Manchester United to even consider letting him go?
