🔴 OPINION: Alexander Sørloth to Manchester United — Would It Actually Make Sense?

There’s been some talk around Alexander Sørloth and Manchester United, and honestly, I think this is a transfer that deserves a proper discussion.

Sørloth isn’t the type of signing that would immediately get every United fan excited. He’s already 30 and wouldn’t necessarily fit the club’s preference for signing young players with years of resale value.

But football isn’t always about potential.

Sometimes you need a striker who can come in and do the job immediately. Sørloth has experience at the highest level, knows how to play as a No.9 and offers something different physically. He can occupy defenders, bring others into the game and give United a genuine target inside the penalty area.

With Benjamin Šeško now leading the line, having an experienced striker who can provide competition and cover could also be valuable over a long season.

The big question for me is the price.

If Atlético Madrid are asking for a huge fee, I wouldn’t be convinced. United shouldn’t spend massive money on a 30-year-old unless they are absolutely certain he can make a significant difference.

But if the fee is reasonable and Michael Carrick believes Sørloth fits his plans, I wouldn’t completely rule it out.

It wouldn’t be a signing for the future.

It would be a signing for now. 🔴

Personally, I would consider it — but only if the deal makes financial and sporting sense.

United fans, would you take Alexander Sørloth at Old Trafford? 👀👇
