GIVE ZIRKZEE SOME MINUTES! MANCHESTER UNITED NEED TO SEE WHAT HE CAN REALLY BRING
Joshua Zirkzee deserves a proper opportunity to show what he can offer Manchester United. 👀🔴
The Dutch forward has found himself under increasing scrutiny, with questions being raised about his role and future at Old Trafford. However, before supporters completely write him off, there is a strong argument that he simply needs a consistent run of minutes and, most importantly, a start.
👀 Stop Judging Him on Cameo Appearances
One of the biggest problems with judging a player is expecting him to make a major impact after being introduced for only a handful of minutes.
Coming off the bench when a game is already well underway is completely different from starting from the first whistle.
A starting opportunity would allow Zirkzee to settle into the game, understand the rhythm, get more touches of the ball and build a better understanding with the players around him.
Manchester United need to find out exactly what they have in the player.
Give him 60–90 minutes and let him play his natural game.
🔴 Zirkzee Offers Something Different
Zirkzee isn’t simply a traditional No.9 who will spend the entire game waiting inside the penalty area for crosses.
One of his notable qualities is his ability to drop deeper, link up with teammates and participate in the build-up.
That can potentially give United another dimension in attack.
Instead of constantly looking for a striker to make runs behind the defence, Zirkzee can operate between the lines, combine with midfielders and create space for runners around him.
But those qualities are much easier to assess when a player has enough time on the pitch.
🧠 Confidence Matters
Footballers need confidence, and strikers arguably need it more than most.
A forward who knows he is trusted by the manager is more likely to play with freedom and take risks.
On the other hand, constantly coming on for limited minutes can make it difficult for a player to establish rhythm.
Zirkzee needs to know that he has a genuine opportunity to earn his place.
If he starts and performs well, United could suddenly have another useful attacking option.
If he starts and struggles, then the coaching staff will have much more evidence to work with.
Either way, United get answers.
🔥 Give Him One Proper Run
Nobody is saying Zirkzee should automatically become Manchester United’s undisputed first-choice striker.
The argument is much simpler:
Give him a proper chance.
Let him start a Premier League game. Give him meaningful minutes. Allow him to play alongside United’s strongest attacking players and see whether he can develop an understanding with them.
After that, fans can make a much more informed judgment about his performances.
Manchester United cannot afford to waste potentially useful players simply because they haven’t been given enough opportunities to prove themselves.
