‼️🔴 I WOULD RATHER START PATRICK DORGU AT LEFT-BACK THAN LUKE SHAW!
Manchester United have an important decision to make at left-back, and for me, Patrick Dorgu should be the preferred starter ahead of Luke Shaw.
While Shaw remains an experienced and technically gifted defender when fully fit, Dorgu offers something Manchester United desperately need: pace, physicality, energy and attacking aggression.
The Danish international has shown that he is capable of playing with intensity and contributing at both ends of the pitch. His ability to carry the ball forward, overlap and recover quickly could give United another dimension down the left flank.
🔴 Dorgu Can Provide More Energy
One of Dorgu’s biggest strengths is his athleticism. The 21-year-old can cover a lot of ground and is capable of recovering quickly when Manchester United lose possession.
That could be particularly important in a team looking to press higher and play with greater intensity.
Starting Dorgu at left-back would also allow United to have a defender who can aggressively support attacks without leaving the team completely exposed when possession is lost.
⚡ The Partnership With Rashford Could Be Dangerous
Dorgu’s attacking qualities could also benefit the left winger playing ahead of him.
His willingness to overlap could create space for the winger to move inside, while his pace gives United another option when attacking quickly.
A strong understanding between the left-back and left winger could make United much more dangerous on that side of the pitch.
🛡️ Shaw Still Has An Important Role
This doesn’t mean Luke Shaw has no place in the team.
When fit and at his best, Shaw brings experience, composure and excellent ability on the ball. He can still be an important player for Manchester United, particularly in matches where his technical quality and experience are needed.
However, if the decision is based on who should start right now, I would lean towards Dorgu.

For me, Patrick Dorgu should start at LB, with Luke Shaw providing experienced competition for the position.
Dorgu’s pace, strength and attacking mentality could give United more intensity on the left and help the team become more dynamic going forward.
